Kavi Picasso
The music industry is always looking for a new and refreshing kind of energy to evolve in 2021, as creative as the artist that bore his name Kavi Picasso paints an abstract picture into a musical field trip representing North Richmond, California. This place has become synonymous with hip-hop music as of late. The Picasso Mixtape plays like a soundtrack to a cinematic film reminiscent of SuperFly scored by musical genius Curtis Mayfield. Utilizing a collection of producers Mill & Lige “She One Me,” and “The Future,” Deerozeonabeat “Back It Up,” Herbmadethisbeat “Modo” Overdose Beatz “Street Life,” MMMonthabeat “G-Code” and “Lil Daddy,” Doe “Boss,” DJ Thouwow “Swervy” and “Pray For Me,” to create this masterpiece of a project. However, the lead single Loui. V is a reimagined version of 50 Cent’s “21 Questions.” Arranged by platinum producer Kenneth Klou Franklin known for Master P’s No Limit Records.
The masterful Klou plays every instrument on the track live. Adding bass guitar giving the song an old school funk vibe in the millennium. Kavi Picasso’s confident and bravado lyrics explode on every piece like the brush strokes of Pablo Picasso. You would be hardpressed to find another young artist in the music business now as versatile as Kavi Picasso. Likewise, PRE (Paper Route Empire) DJ Memphis is a young, ambitious DJ making a lot of noise on the other side of the country in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to touring with some of the south’s biggest acts, the most notable Young Dolph and Key Glock of PRE DJ Memphis has also recently ventured into radio as an on-air personality. The collaboration came naturally as the two sparked a relationship years ago during Kavi Picasso’s brief college stint in Alabama. Amidst the producers’ productions, DJ Memphis is the tour guide leading you carefully from track to track, keeping you engaged for the destination on this musical joyride. The Picasso Mixtape is 11 hard-hitting tracks full of dope beats, brilliant lyrics, and catchy hooks and bridges. Exclusively debuting on the popular Mixtape hosting site Spinrilla for the next two weeks, I strongly suggest you download it before it’s too late!
