Ghazi Shami Founder Of Empire Records & Distribution Engineers New Mo3 Record on Instagram Live

Mo3 exploded onto the scene in 2014 with his first mixtape, “Shottaz.” However, its popularity paled compared to his follow-up project Shottaz Reloaded; its two singles, "Gangsta Love" and "Hold Ya Tongue," were streamed over ten million times together. The project's popularity earned him consigns from Lil Ronny, Dorrough, and his favorite artist Boosie Badazz.

It’s been just over 3 months since Dallas street gospel rapper Mo3 was driving northbound on I-35 when a man got out of his car and approached him, shooting. Mo3 attempted to escape; however, he was struck in the back of the head and died. The rapper began dropping albums in 2016 but gained a lot of recognition from Boosie Badazz's collaboration “Badazz Mo3,” released in February 2020. His untimely death introduced his music to a new audience of fans worldwide and left them with a longing for more and thoughts of what could have been. In the past few days, a new song, “Scared To Go Outside,” began circulating on the internet, complete with a video clip that instantly buzzed. The leaked version of the song has all but been wiped clean from YouTube due to copyright infringements. But the Empire Records founder Ghazi Shami went on Instagram live tonight while mixing and mastering the track personally, something he admits to not doing in over 10 years. Ghazi responded to a fan saying, “It did come out that was a rough draft; it got leaked the real version is coming soon.” Mo3 soulful hip hop music was raw. Real fans could connect with the pain in his lyrics while his voice embraced the struggle that translated and resonated with so many. Fans are excited to hear new music from a man many thought could be a major contributor to the genre for years to come. Nevertheless, Mo3’s life was taken away too soon, but his voice will live forever. #LongLiveMo3
