Over the weekend, rapper Offset of the Migo's got caught in the middle of a Trump rally in Beverly Hills, California. Offset and Cardi B.'s cousin was out cruising in Beverly Hills when all of a sudden, they made a turn into a Trump Rally. Trump supporters recognized the famous rapper swarmed his vehicle and began banging on the windows. Offset, a Georgia native, has been active in the political arena over the past year. They were using his celebrity to get out the votes and throwing his support behind the Democratic ticket for former Vice President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Offset has even been using his social media platforms to offer "Free Rides" to the polls campaign with Lyft from user code: Nike2020 for those who need a ride. Why is all of this important? Georgia's state has been the epicenter of the voter suppression lawsuit filed in 2018. After the gubernatorial, Fair Fight Action raised serious concerns, the nonprofit arm of a new voting rights organization founded by Abrams, and Care in Action.

Hip-Hop is forever-evolving. Although rap music has roots in politics with acts like Public Enemy, Parish, and Queen Latifah, the more glamorous gangster rappers with flashy cars, jewelry money, and hot women. Today Hip-Hop is immersed in the fabric of American culture, and many of the rappers are becoming more involved with politics sharing their views on political matters. To this end rapper, 50 Cent has come out in support of Donald Trump, saying that he likes Trump's tax plans. Cardi B. has been in virtual debates with Fox News anchors and initially endorsing Bernie Sanders for President before switching to team Biden. We all know Kanye West is running for President. This past weekend, the events after being surrounded and attack by Trump supporters, one of whom also called the Police to say that Offset had a gun in the vehicle.
Officers quickly moved in and aggressively pulled the rapper from his car against his protest. At the same time, he took to Instagram live to record this injustice. While Offset refused to obey officers' demands to step out of the vehicle, the officers had weapons drawn. He was afraid that if he moved, they would kill him. Nearby Cardi B. watched in fear, shock, and horror on Instagram live as the situation unfolded. As she quickly arrived on the scene, she was visibly upset over the Offset situation.
Meanwhile, officers continued their detainment to discern what was going on. Offset seemed to even more upset at the sight of his wife yelling "No No No," began telling the Police that "You only doing this shit because I'm black." Officers place Offset in handcuffs; you can hear Trump supporter heckling, "Where is J.B ( Joe Biden )? Now he can't save you; you're going to jail." As others joked "free Offset" and talk about Cardi B.'s Rolls Royce. As I researched countless eyewitness interviews, talk shows, and YouTube videos, I came across Sister Grace. She claimed that she had just left Tump's rally. Sister Grace had no clue who either Card B. or Offset were as she did her civic duty recording any and everything you see. Although the Police had the situation under control, "amazing" Sister Grace read Offset license plate to the entire world. Check out our video below, and let's hope Offset was driving a rental.
The Police released Offset without any further incident or charges. However, the Police arrested Cardi B.'s cousin charging him with the suspicion of having a gun. Some people assume wrongly that fame and riches make you immune to racism, but this cannot be further from the truth. I would argue that fame and riches only make them a more prominent and sometimes a more visible target for rappers.
