Rick Ross Got a Buffalo Problem & It Ain't Wings
One of Rick Ross's neighbors told TMZ that his buffalo kept trespassing into her yard.
She told the publication she feared for the safety of her children.
Ross addressed their escape in an Instagram story, thanking his neighbors for returning them.
According to a TMZ report, Rick Ross' buffalo have been running away from his Promise Land estate and into a neighbor's yard, much to her displeasure.
Rapper and rancher Ross, who resides in Fayetteville, Georgia, has a variety of animals on his property, including horses, cows, and two buffalo, one of which is called Timbuktu. Ross received the buffalo as a birthday gift from the clothing brand Ethika last year while he expanded his ranch.
2,000-pound beasts crossed into her yard twice this week, the unnamed woman who lives on a parcel of land behind the rapper's property told TMZ, making her fear for the safety of her two young children.
A video of the animals ripping through her yard and gnawing on her grass was also posted by the woman. A number of people can be seen chasing the two buffalo and a cow off the woman's land in the footage.
The woman claimed that after the encounter, she attempted to confront Ross but instead spoke with one of his team members. Her plan to pursue a neighbor dispute with the city was revealed to TMZ.
Ross took to his Instagram account on Sunday afternoon to address reports that his animals had escaped the ranch and allay concerns about their size.
Ross remarked in one anecdote, "They are just grazers, they are not meat eaters,"
Ross claimed that he was working on his land when the animals escaped, and he confirmed that his team members were the ones that captured the escaping animals.
In addition, he urged individuals who were watching his online speech "to always keep a collar" on their pets, even though he later contradicted himself by claiming his buffalo did not wear a collar.
"And for everybody that's wanting a statement and response for my bulls, my cows, a couple buffalos that got away in the community, this is my response: I always return stray animals. Make sure you always keep a collar on your animal. And mine don't have a collar cus you know it's mine."
Ross went on: "So when you see my buffalo, give it a carrot, give it an apple. They so kind. They so peaceful. Thanks everybody for watching. Thanks everyone for making sure my animals got back into the Promise Land."
Representatives for Ross did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
